LBMA

Not all that glitters is 999.99 gold

When we talk about gold held on deposit, we must always verify that it is LBMA-certified gold!

LBMA is the acronym for London Bullion Market Association, the international association representing the wholesale gold and silver market in London. Founded in 1987, it sets the quality standards (“Good Delivery”) for bars and defines the world’s reference prices for precious metals.

Here are the key points to understand the LBMA:

  • Standard-Setting Authority: The LBMA guarantees the quality and authenticity of precious metals. The “Good Delivery” list sets the purity (minimum 99.5%) and weight requirements for bars, recognised worldwide.
  • Price Setting: It manages the LBMA Gold Price (formerly the London Gold Fixing), the international reference price set twice a day (morning and afternoon) for gold and silver.
  • International Members: It includes over 150 members, including banks, refineries, miners and traders from over 30 countries.
  • Oversight: It operates under the supervision of the Bank of England.

LBMA-certified bars offer the highest level of trust and marketability in the physical gold market, ensuring that the product meets strict standards of integrity and purity.

Worldwide, there are just over 60 LBMA-certified refineries… compared to the thousands and thousands of refineries that do not hold this certification…

WE offer our clients ONLY LBMA gold, providing the highest level of security available in the market!
